Life in Hawaii through the perspective of the plate lunch. The Plate Lunch as served by Honolulu Mark is a mixed plate metaphor for the way people, their stories and their food, come together on one plate to make Hawaii paradise. Honolulu Mark has returned home to his Hawaii roots but eats, shoots and leaves extend to my second home, Seattle.

A New Yawker in Kailua
No decent sandwich to be found in Kailua? Fuggedaboutit! Head on over to Gee...A Deli on Wheels on Kihapai St. The lunch crowd included these Lanikai beachgoers.
This customer told me she came all the way from Kaneohe to get a decent reuben.
Here's the New Yorker: turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, with the works, on toasted rye. Gee...A Deli on Wheels is open Tuesdays - Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm.
