Life in Hawaii through the perspective of the plate lunch. The Plate Lunch as served by Honolulu Mark is a mixed plate metaphor for the way people, their stories and their food, come together on one plate to make Hawaii paradise. Honolulu Mark has returned home to his Hawaii roots but eats, shoots and leaves extend to my second home, Seattle.

Scuse me, but I believe I ordered the large
The Pic of the Day is my lunch today, the combination bento plate from the aptly named Fatboy Local Drive-In in downtown Kailua on the island of Oahu Hawaii.
From left to right, that would be beef teriyaki, the humble but much-loved Spam slice, hot dog, mahi mahi breaded, deep-fried and served with a shot of miso sauce, and chicken karaage, all on a bed of rice and furikake. Hello, Man v. Food? I think you're going to want to try this one on for size.
