Life in Hawaii through the perspective of the plate lunch. The Plate Lunch as served by Honolulu Mark is a mixed plate metaphor for the way people, their stories and their food, come together on one plate to make Hawaii paradise. Honolulu Mark has returned home to his Hawaii roots but eats, shoots and leaves extend to my second home, Seattle.

Mobile Chowdown 2
The big draw at Mobile Chowdown 2, revenge of the street food crawlers, was Marination Mobile. Folks just can't get enough of those Korean-Hawaiian tacos. El Camion also compelled long lines of eaters jonesing for carnitas.
A new and welcome addition to the line-up that happened last Saturday was the cute and compact Top Pot Doughnuts wagon. Check out more Mobile Chowdown photos on Flickr. Variety was the order of the day. Besides tacos and doughnuts, the winter roundup included Dante's Inferno Dogs, Gert's BBQ, Veraci Pizza, Jones Soda, Anita's Crepes and Kaosamai Thai.
