Taiyaki at Shirokiya

Taiyaki, fresh off the griddle, Shirokiya, Honolulu, Hawaii: Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up yum! Sweet waffle batter is poured into a griddle of rows of two-bite size fish molds. A squirt of azuki beans, guava cream, or custard goes into the fishies and out comes a delightful sugar rush.

Want to see the manju man making taiyaki and mini donuts in action? Check out the video that Mari Taketa shot on Nonstop Honolulu: It’s official: Shirokiya now totally food-crazy.
