Life in Hawaii through the perspective of the plate lunch. The Plate Lunch as served by Honolulu Mark is a mixed plate metaphor for the way people, their stories and their food, come together on one plate to make Hawaii paradise. Honolulu Mark has returned home to his Hawaii roots but eats, shoots and leaves extend to my second home, Seattle.

Pic of the Day: Pork Rilletes at Picnic
The house made pork rilletes at Picnic are a great complement to your next party spread or al fresco feast.
I enjoyed this spread at the recent Greenwood-Phinney Art Walk. Picnic, the food and wine boutique on Phinney Ridge, featured wines from Washington winemaker Mark Wysling's Parejas Cellars and paired them with the rilletes, as well as salumi and Kurtwood Farms Dinah's Cheese.
Picnic also serves a daily select menu of soups, salads and sandwiches and wine tasting every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Summer is coming, just keep thinking, summer is coming, Seattle. Stop by Picnic to get your al fresco on when the next sunny day comes along.
