Life in Hawaii through the perspective of the plate lunch. The Plate Lunch as served by Honolulu Mark is a mixed plate metaphor for the way people, their stories and their food, come together on one plate to make Hawaii paradise. Honolulu Mark has returned home to his Hawaii roots but eats, shoots and leaves extend to my second home, Seattle.

Skillet Street Food Pic of the Day
The week before the historic Seattle Heatwave of '09, when streets burned with flames invisible to the eye but searing to the skin, I walked to the walk-up window that Skillet Street Food opened recently on 4th Ave. S. and S. Main. The summer lasagna they sold that day was large enough to serve two, or one if you are incredibly hungry. Ingredients: fresh, velvety, hand-made pasta, fresh marinara, ricotta, basil, and grilled zucchini and squash.
