Foodies talk with Flavor Bible authors
Thanks to Frantic Foodie for inviting me to a coffee klatsch with other food bloggers to meet Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg, award-wining authors of "The Flavor Bible: The Essential Guide to Culinary Creativity, Based on the Wisdom of America's Most Imaginative Chefs."
Cornishon, Daily Munch, Frantic Foodie, Herbivoracious, Seattle Tall Poppy, and I enjoyed an insightful conversation at Muse Coffee on Queen Anne. We got to hear what it takes to write seven renowned culinary books and they got tips on some of the best places to eat in Seattle!
Page and Dornenburg's previous book "What to Drink with What You Eat" has become a must-have reference for anyone interested in food and beverage pairing. "The Flavor Bible" complements this approach with a storehouse of ideas and information on flavors. So, let's say you're embracing the locavore nation in your cooking. Is it asparagus season? Sweet corn? Heirloom tomatoes? What haven't you tried yet to bring out the savory pork goodness from that loin you got from Wooly Pigs guy at the farmers' market?
