It's official: Director Darren Aronofsky is going to make a new RoboCop. Aronofsky wowed art house crowd with Pi and 2000's Requiem for a Dream , then tried his hand at a high concept time travel romance by making The Fountain, starring his wife Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman.
Variety reports the new incarnation may have a "noir" quality and will be written by David Self (Road to Perdition, the upcoming Wolfman).
Gasworks, if you remember the 1987 original movie, figured prominently in the scene where Robocop chases that ugly villain around the rusted tanks at Gasworks.
