Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels pointed to a problem with the waste produced by discarded plastic water bottles calling them a "hot mess" that needs to go away. Okay, maybe he didn't use those exact words, but he finger-wagged those culprit containers today as reported by Susan Gilmore in the Seattle Times article Stop buying bottled water, Nickels urges Seattleites
With a five-foot-tall stack of water bottles and 56 oil barrels as a backdrop at Westlake Park, Nickels said buying bottled water costs 2,400 times as much as drinking tap water — and Seattle has some of the best city water in the world.
