The Peabody Award, presented by the University of Georgia School of Journalism, recognizes the best in the broadcasting. Local and national news reports are recognized for their journalism as well as entertainment shows for their quality of, well, entertainment. This year the Peabody recognized the The Colbert Report.
The Comedy Central Insider reports:
"I proudly accept this award and begrudgingly forgive the Peabody Committee for taking three years to recognize greatness. On a personal note, I'd like to say that I've long been a fan of Mr. Peabody, as well as his boy Sherman," Colbert said.
