Life in Hawaii through the perspective of the plate lunch. The Plate Lunch as served by Honolulu Mark is a mixed plate metaphor for the way people, their stories and their food, come together on one plate to make Hawaii paradise. Honolulu Mark has returned home to his Hawaii roots but eats, shoots and leaves extend to my second home, Seattle.

Asian Grandmothers Cookbook coming
Since I've been able to spend more time in the ID sampling the plethora of Asian dishes, (something I'll say more about later) I thought it best to post a shout-out to a fellow foodie and friend who's writing The Asian Grandmothers Cookbook, due out next year. Whether you called yours bubbie or oba-chan, we all have stories about the food our grandmothers fed us, so her blog is filled with food, history, culture and, of course, recipes!
