It just makes my day that Andrew Le has brought The Pig and the Lady to the Kailua Farmers Market. Here's the gyu-tan (above) from Da Ala Cart. It's shoyu-seasoned beef tongue on a stick from Chris Quisote who brings his own spin on kushiyaki to the streets of Honolulu. Momo Burger is a new truck that hit the streets of Honolulu about a month ago. Colin Sato is the man behind the spatula slinging burgers. The menu features the classic cheese burger and bacon cheese burger, as well as a kim chee burger, veggie burger, teri burger, and mushroom burger. There's also an interesting lamb burger.

Food trucks Ono to Go and Yajima-ya have paired to serve up one-two punches of local Asian favorites. I enjoyed the kiawe grilled misoyaki butterfish while others enjoyed donburi with ginger pork. Yajima-ya also serves iced coffee and desert waffles in addition to its' authentic Japanese noodle dishes. The Yataimura Shirokiya ramen fest continues with pop-up shop Hakata Chouten from Fukuoka here for a few days more. Ramen shops from around Japan have been featuring their best bowls here in Honolulu.

The photo here is a bowl of barikoku tonkotsu ramen. It's a thick, rich broth of bold, smoky, roast pork and miso umami.
